Lately I have been absolutely loving the pottery and ceramics on Etsy. Well, I’ve been loving pottery and ceramics in general, but combined with my love for all things Etsy… you get the picture. I think this art form is so fabulous. Pottery spans so many different uses and kinds of art. It can be a cereal bowl or a wall hanging, jewelry, a vase, a serving tray, it can be sturdy or delicate. I just love it all. So I wanted to share some of my favorite inspirations today (yes, they change daily)!

pretty little things

So, moving into J’s place has me keeping an eye out for bargains on home furnishings and decor. He’s lived there himself for a little over a year, but he spent a lot of that time fixing it up. Now it looks great – but is mostly empty! Lucky for him I like shopping 😉 The living room and bedroom both need new furniture sets, but since that’s a big expense, they might be a way off. However, my side of the bed currently is nightstandless. Which was tolerable when I was only spending weekends there. But not so much full time. I am pleased to say, however, that the issue has been remedied! I present to you my first purchase for our home – the Dolce Nightstand, a la Target!

Now I just need a cute reading lamp to go on top of it… I kind of like this little guy, also from Target…

Has anyone else seen cute and affordable table lamps recently? (Or cute and affordable home decor of any nature, really…)

I’d just like to start out by saying that I really don’t mind things like rodents and creepy crawlies, unless they are inhabiting my dwelling. And even then, I’m usually able to terminate/remove them without getting all squealy and girly about it (no offense to those of you who are squealy and girly, of course). However, I do have to draw some lines, at things like, well, these little guys. Courtesy of east side bride.

Note that it comes with the warning: “Although their hides are cured and dried, they still may appeal to pets.”

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure that the nice folks at Paxton Gate do fantastic taxidermy work. Which is great for say, hunters. But, I can’t say I’m that kind of girl.
